HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATIONS A SUCCESS
Congratulations to all high schools for the excellent job in arranging
the 2008 graduations. All went off without a hitch with dignity and
professionalism. Thank you high school principals and your staff for
top-notch ceremonies. Below is a picture of celebrants at the

BSO AND WHIDDON-ROGERS HOST GRADUATION CEREMONY

On Friday, August 4, 2008 the Broward Sheriff's Office in
conjunction with Whiddon-Rogers Education Center hosted a
graduation ceremony for 9 juveniles offenders housed at the Broward
County Main Jail.
Distinguished guests of Whiddon-Rogers Education Center, principal
Linda Thomas were North Central Area Director, Dr. Desmond
Blackburn and Superintendent of Schools, Mr. James Notter. Mr.
Notter received special recognition from BSO Program Manager,
Sharron Freeman for our school district's commitment to providing
quality educational services to both juveniles and adults housed in the
Broward County jails.
Eighteen of about 60 juvenile offenders earned either their high
school diploma or GED during the 2007-2008 school year. Over
2000 inmates have taken and passed the GED during Mrs. Thomas 9
year tenure as principal.
