SGA - Student Government Assn.

Description:  Oversees all student activities at WREC.

Membership Requirements:  Membership drive during the first term. 

Frequency:  Meet monthly.

Whiddon-Rogers Education Center encourages all members of the student body to participate in the Student Government Association (SGA). In order to run for an office, a student must have a  GPA and not have received any unsatisfactory conduct grades for the marking period prior to the election. Freshmen class officer elections take place in the Fall. Upperclassmen and SGA elections take place in the Spring..

SGA Eligibility: In order to run for an office, the candidate must:

  • have a 2.5 unweighted grade point average;
  • have not received any unsatisfactory conduct grades for the marking period prior to the election;
  • must be a member of the SGA for the marking period prior to the election;
  • must complete a petition; and
  • have 15 documented Service Learning Hours prior to the end of the semester before the election is held.

To run for President of the SGA, a candidate must be a senior during his/her term of office. If you are interested in participating in SGA, please see             for more details.

S.A.D.D. - Students Against Drunk Driving

 

Faculty Sponsor:

Description: Members campaign against drinking, driving, and drugs.

Membership Requirements: Main GPA, attendance, and set positive example for the rest of the student population.

Frequency: Weekly

 

 

Florida Future Educators of America

Description: To promote an interest in a career in education. We provide an opportunity for schoool and community service as well as fundraising and competitions on the country level. Students who are members for two years, who are pursuing a degree in education are eligible to complete for county scholarships.

Membership Requirements:   All WREC students interested in teaching are welcome.

Frequency:  Every Wednesday .
